Managing children when home is workplace

Tips for Mothers Who Work at Home

- You need to organize separate place for your work, and for children's activities. Place of children's activities need to be visible from your place of work, so you can watch them at all times.

- While you work, children can do their activities

- When they need you, leave the work right away and put attention on their needs.

- Manage children's needs first then they will leave you alone for your work

- Make important phone calls when they are taking nap, or on quiet time

- Forget all the time work time, some days you may be more productive, some days children may need you more

- For better management of your time try to set up activities for children, so they know when mommy is working, they are working, too.

- You can rest from chores and work by reading books for them, or even take a little nap with them

- Ask your children to help you with the chores around the house, this makes them feel good about themselves and you wont get exhausted by doing everything yourself

- Remember children are curious by nature, they may want to know what you do while working, you can get them involve, give them a little chores to do according to their age, this will make them feel important, and they will leave you alone for the rest of your work

- Work never gets done, never let it upset you because of it, stick-to-it, do things one at the time, you will get it done

- Talk to your children when you are tired, they will understand

- Always listen to them when they call you, even if you are in the middle of something important. It will save you time in a long run. You will get into the habit of listening and responding right away, they will learn mom is always available. This will teach them to resolve their problems first before they come to you.

- Get involve with public library for children's social activities, use a local park for children's physical activity
